Planting Design

Stunning planting combinations are only achieved through the blend of design skills along with the horticultural knowledge needed to produce a plan that gives all year round interest with dramatic bursts of seasonal colour and architectural shapes.

Why re-design your planting...

  • to address site specific problems such as a high water table and flooding
  • need drought tolerant planting because of climate change
  • need planting that will thrive in deep shade or strong wind
  • need horticultural knowledge and experience to bring your vision to life
  • need to update your planting that looks past its best
  • or simply have no time to do it yourself

The visit

We will visit your property and discuss any ideas you have, take measurements of all the planting areas, test to determine the acidity/alkalinity of the soil, noting the position of the sun and particular areas of shade/dryness/damp.

The studio

Mood board

Back in the studio we draw up the survey and design the planting; the planting plans has plants represented by coloured circles making the plan easy to read.

We do a plant mood board for each different season with photographs to help you picture the images we are trying to create.

The plant schedule is produced and the plants are sourced from a local nursery.
