Flower bed

Garden Design

The initial meeting

A first meeting at your property to understand your ideas and plans for your garden and the budget you would like to set. We will go through the process of a typical landscaping/garden design with you and agree which stages and drawings you may need for your project. After the meeting we will prepare a proposal for you which outlines initial thoughts and costs, which once agreed the design can begin.

Stage 1 - The outline scheme design

Site Plan Example

  • Site Analysis - a study of the site in photographs combined with the client brief
  • Sketch plan - a hand rendered layout plan to scale
  • Mood board - used to give a sense of style and colour with materials and planting
  • Perspective drawings - artistic impressions of your garden

Stage 2 - The detailed design

Construction Diagram

  • Master plan
  • Setting out plans with dimensions and survey levels
  • Construction drawings
These are developed in CAD for accuracy and used by the landscape contractor to construct your garden

Stage 3 - The planting plans

Planting Plan

  •  Detailed layout plans for each bed with species and spacing
  • Full schedule of plants
  • Illustrated maintenance plan
