Garden Design
The initial meeting
A first meeting at your property to understand your ideas and plans for your garden and the budget you would like to set. We will go through the process of a typical landscaping/garden design with you and agree which stages and drawings you may need for your project. After the meeting we will prepare a proposal for you which outlines initial thoughts and costs, which once agreed the design can begin.
Stage 1 - The outline scheme design
- Site Analysis - a study of the site in photographs combined with the client brief
- Sketch plan - a hand rendered layout plan to scale
- Mood board - used to give a sense of style and colour with materials and planting
- Perspective drawings - artistic impressions of your garden
Stage 2 - The detailed design
- Master plan
- Setting out plans with dimensions and survey levels
- Construction drawings
These are developed in CAD for accuracy and used by the landscape contractor to construct your garden
Stage 3 - The planting plans
- Detailed layout plans for each bed with species and spacing
- Full schedule of plants
- Illustrated maintenance plan
Project costs and design fees
We are happy to work with whatever budget you set. Our fees are based on guidance from the Society of Garden Designers; we will agree either a fixed rate for the project or work on a day rate basis.
